ABOUT US
"A FRESH TAKE ON FRANCE'S OLDEST SPIRIT"
For the founder Will Perkins, the story is one of love and connection.
Inspired by a chance encounter with the region through his late stepfather,
the power of their enduring bond and the timeless allure of food and drink.
Our Story
At the heart of Elusa lies a deeply personal story
woven with memories and connection.
The seed of Elusa’s existence planted long ago thanks to ‘French Charlie’
the late stepfather of founder Will Perkins.
More than just a stepfather; he was a charismatic adventurer and dreamer.
An only child, with no children of his own, he loved and guided Will as kin, helping to shape his outlook & unknowingly ignite his entrepreneurial spirit!
In 2009, Charlie purchased a modest house in the town of Eauze, where we all enjoyed many happy memories before he sadly passed away in 2016,
his parents remained, living in this house
until the summer of 2022 when they could no longer live alone.
At this point Will and his mother Vanessa visited, to aid their journey
and it was then that the seed of Elusa appeared!
This town of Eauze just so happens to be capital of the Armagnac region.
Formally known under the pre-Roman title Elusa
and the last town to surrender to the Roman army of Julius Cesar.
It is steeped in tradition, alchemy and craft.
The significance of this place cannot be understated.
The town, house and lands are not only home to the world finest Armagnacs,
the setting where many fond memories were shared
and Will took his first sip of this enticing elixir,
setting in motion the shape of his own destiny and Charlie’s legacy!
